Fall

This picture touches me deeply.
The yellow and reddish brown tones evoke a strong affect of nostalgia rooted deep within.
The fragile, crystal clear, crisp leaves, bent with age and lack of life-juice remind of the fragility of life.
The depth of field gives the two leaves on the bottom right of the photo a prominent status, evoking the impression of almost being in play with each other, perhaps the last dance of life before transformation into another state, before time as is is halted for them.
Almost only subconsciously at first, the mind notices the many other leaves in the background, sharing the same fate of the two in the forefront, leaving the viewer possibly with subconscious images of the often cited story of Adam and Eve, heralding mankind's equal fate of cycle, birth and death, ending and beginning.
The vision therefore becomes philosophical and anthropological and shifts the intelligent mind to wonder about life cycles and their balance. This is well underlined with the colour balance of reddish and green tones. Everything in life is in balance, even the tragic seeming endingness of life.
